Album 26

A red and black leather album including six portraits of the same man in Newcastle, a train conductor in Buenos Ayres, a portrait by Osborne of Hobart, Tasmania, and a rare run of identified and dated Brits.

Album 37

An elaborately gilded red leather album containing a man with his penny farthing from 1886 and inhabitants of obscure (to me at least) German towns such as Remscheid, Delmenhorst and Meerane. Plus portraits from India and Hong Kong.

Album 16

An art nouveau album embossed with lilies containing floral lithographic pages. Contains a certain Dr. Harold Henley in India and the Hon. Alfred Nelson Hood, son of the 1st Viscount Bridport, in Germany. We deliberately don’t collect famous people or royalty but as these two are neither royal nor famous […]

Album 94

A blue leather album sporting a heraldic shield engraved with initials and the date 1881. Contains great eyeware including a sparkling monocle and a pince-nez, some fancy neckwear from Hungary and Mr. Welch’s dog Dash, posing obediently way back in 1867.

Album 93

A blue leather album with a swivelling lyre clasp and silver gilt pages. Packed full of portraits including an early carte de visite from Colombo (1867), some Argentinians, a Brazilian, a white-tunic-ed Britisher in Hong Kong and a bonkers mutton-chopped Russian from Sebastopol.

Album 18

A green leather album embossed with ferns and flowers and with gilt-edged bright red pages. Contains a number of dodgy-looking characters from the UK and a nice young man from Birmingham whose curly hair matches his astrakhan collar.
